| For writers, the solitude of The Ridge is a perfect setting to help you focus on the work at hand without distractions. Writers of every stripe are welcome--poets, novelists, essayists, screenwriters and playwrights...everyone. The Ridge is available throughout the Spring and Summer. The layout of separate bedrooms offers a sense of both community and solitude. You have your own room. Work on your projects in your individual rooms or on the deck or porch, and then gather with other writers in the Great Room for meals and discussions. We've chosen not to add internet access to The Ridge, eliminating the temptation to browse and answer mail when you should be writing; but for those who simply must check e-mails or use the internet for their research, WiFi and internet access are available only ten minutes away in Juniata, PA. Two and four week residencies available, from May through August. Groups and writing workshops (up to 8) are also welcome. Contact manager@theridgeretreat.com for further information. |
